If you didn't have stitches or tearing then just whenever it feels comfortable to you is fine. If you had a c-section then again, just wait till you feel comfortable. If you are breast feeding it is highly unlikely you would get pregnant as your menstrual cycle would not have returned. i gave birth 13 days ago and they told me to wait until 6 weeks.

you are nearly 4 weeks after birth- so you are healed up more in the body.

i think as long as you don't have any stitches down there you will be fine. i think it is to give your body time to heal and the bleeding to stop. stitches to heal if you have any. we had sex about 4 1/2 weeks fterwards and i was fine. i told the doctor and he said it was okay since i didn't have stitches and it wasn't really painful.What happens if you have sex to early after giveing birth?You could be pregnant before your six week check up

You can get an infection or become pregnant.
infection and the vagina hasn't got all the "juice" back yet to lubricate itself for sex...just wait and the 6 wk mark will be here before u know it
