What happens when 2 relatives have sex and gives birth to a baby?

For example, a male cousin have sex with his female cousin, will the baby be mentally retarded or abnormal in some way or another? Please explain. What happens when 2 relatives have sex and gives birth to a baby?I think many places have laws regarding incest and who can marry who, and this is the reason. Where I live, it is unlawful for two people who are more closely related than second cousins to marry, but they will make an exception for first cousins if the woman is past child-bearing age. (Yuck.)

Some people call it "inbreeding" and yes, there is a greater incidence of birth defects, and often the child has a strange look about them. Often the child has mental handicaps or lower intelligence. There are also cases where the child is totally normal. With all the risks, it's better to control yourself and avoid these problems. What happens when 2 relatives have sex and gives birth to a baby?
The odds of cousins having children with birth defects is only 3 to 4 percent higher than everybody else. The idea that it causes birth defects all the time has been shown up as a myth.

For relatives of the same blood to have sex and have a baby, there are always risks involved. I cannot guarantee there will be something wrong with the baby but i cant say there wont be something wrong. This is what scans, and blood tests at the midwife is for, to detect downs syndrome, spina bifida etc. What happens when 2 relatives have sex and gives birth to a baby?Depends on what level of cousins they are also (1st, 2nd, etc...) and the first answer was also correct. What happens when 2 relatives have sex and gives birth to a baby?
It's called incest, and sometimes they are born with some sort of defect. Other times, they are not.
the pool of gene is limited then thus defects are likely seen
