How soon after starting the pill can I start having unprotected sex?

I started the birth control pill at the beginning of April, and am currently on my first period since starting it. I was wondering how soon after from the starting point of the pill would it be considered safe to start having unprotected sex?



Keep in mind, I am using the answer I receive from this question strictly as a guideline. Hepatitis B is ridiculously easy to catch and in some cases can reduce your life expectancy more than HIV would. Even if you both think you're 'clean', many STDs don't show symptoms for a long time. Who knows who your last sexual partner slept with, and who that person slept with, and so on.

If you have been taking the pill on time every day and not missed any doses, then after 1 cycle your pill has reached maximum efficacy. *cough**cough* hmm...If you're not married, don't even think about it! if you're married, then take one every day. you can "do it" about, say 25 minuets after the pill, let the pill go into your bloodstream, but don't "do it" every day, try maximum 3 times a month. not week! I think that It would be best to lay of the "whoopee" until you take the pills regularly for 1 week, to let your system get used to it. then only 3 times MAXIMUM! Hope this helped!
