Why isn't our Blu-ray/Dvd Player working?

Okay, so this thing is brand spaking new, and I wanted to watch Tangled, but when I went to open up the dvd tray, it wouldn't open at all. It's one of those that flips down, and I got it unstuck so thats fine now, but the tray won't come out. And whenever we press "open/close" on the darn thing, it still says HELLO on the little light screen, but it'll blink. When we use the remote, we get no reponse at all. We changed the batteries in it, and we changed the outlet for the power cord, but its still not working. We read the manual and it doesn't say anything about issues like this. If you could help, I'd greatly appreciate it. I've wanted a Blu-ray player forever. I don't want Mom to take it back! //cryforeverWhy isn't our Blu-ray/Dvd Player working?
Return the player to the store that you purchased it from. Panasonic is the most reliable player in the market today. I own a first generation player from Panasonic model BD-10 which is over 4 years old and played over 300 blu ray disc movies without one problem. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for. You got a dud player. Take it back to the store and exchange it. It's pretty rare to get a dead item, but it happens.
