Hoping AVDaddy will help, even contact me...lol...on my last question I posted a few more details, techy I am not!
Anyhow, my dvd player does NOT have a HDMI jack, but I have a HDMI to component (rgb) and was wondering if this can be used to hook up the dvd player to tv, and would I still need the red white and yellow (all over the darn place cables)?
Also, how can I hook up my dvd player straight to TV with HDMI if it has no jack? Is there a convertor of some sort? Or hook up?
Please advise...I really just need to get rid of the tangle of cables

Since the player lacks an HDMI connection, you will not be able to
connect the player to the TV's HDMI input.
Use RGB (component), and progressive scan, if the TV supports it.
Otherwise, you may have to stoop as low as Y/C (S-video), which is
the best I can use with my 1996 Panasonic CT-27SF31S CRT set.

The HDMI to component cable i likely proprietary for something. You cannot use it.
Use the regualr component video and stereo audio cable.
