Amazon doesn't show it. Wikipedia says it's tied up in legal tangles. However, there are some lesser known websites that are advertising the complete series for less than $50. Are they legit or a rip off?Is the 1960's Batman TV Series released on DVD?
i don't think so, but it sure was a funny series. its hilarious to look back on the rediculous costumes (Adam West in tights--yikes!)
I also wonder if the same thing has happened with Mama's Family series. I've only seen season 1 on DVD, and that was like 3 years ago. Legal limbo? Is the 1960's Batman TV Series released on DVD?
Sadly the series hasn't made it to DVD, and it doesn't appear that it will any time in the near future. The bootleg copies that I have seen are basically episodes that have been taped from tv. Some even have the logo of the broadcast station visible at the bottom of the screen. The only actual release is the Batman movie that was made between seasons 1 and 2. It has been available for a number of years now. It can usually be found anywhere between 5 and 10 dollars. Occasionally you can find various episodes on Youtube. Is the 1960's Batman TV Series released on DVD?
No. The DVD release of the 1966-68 Batman TV series is still in legal limbo between 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros. (which has owned DC Comics since the studio bought the comic publisher in 1967).
All of the DVD sets you see are illegal bootlegs (it's been among the the most bootlegged comic book-related movies and TV shows since the VHS days when bootleg tapes were sold at comic book and sci-fi conventions).
i dont think so
