Is it completely necessary? For example, the movie 300. That one little sex scene ruins the moment when watching it with friends and such. As well as the series Band of Brothers. but the thing i've come to accept over time is, they're there so many audiences want to watch.

I know people who would watch 300 only for the sx scene.

Some watch for the gory blood scenes etc.

It's to communicate and sell to more.

It comes down to money, us humans can be pretty greedy...

Sex is part of life. Everybody is sexual. If you are telling a story about reality, and sex is important to understanding the people in it, then leaving out sex is leaving out an important part of who people are. Even if a person never has sex, a movie about them should cover that. Nobody should be offended by truth.

But some sex in shows is dirty, offensive and unnecessary, and they only put it in to shock and offend. In that case it is just using sex as nothing but a way to make people upset on purpose. Sometimes it is a sign that it is just a bad show, and they had to put sex in to try to save it, like in Bruno or Borat.

It's the same in comedy acts - of the comic knows his material is weak, he adds tons of "F" words and sex references. So called "blue" material only deserves embarrassed chuckles at most.How come most of the good movies have sex scenes?Because people who make movies want to make them appeal to everybody.
