Any truth to planning the sex of your baby?

I keep reading everywhere that you can plan having a boy or girl by the day you conceive in your ovulation cycle. I've heard if you have sex a couple days before you ovulate, you are more likely to have a girl because the "female sperm" is slower.



Has anyone tried this and been successful with planning for a boy or girl? Just wondering if there is any real truth to this.

first we wanted a girl, so we had sex a couple of days before ovulation. Female-carrying sperm are supposedly slower, but they have a longer life cycle, and so they remmain active longer. Deposit the sperm before ovulation. When ovulation hit...Boom, we had a girl!



Second time, we wanted a boy, had sex when she knew she was already ovulating. Male carrying sperm supposedly swim faster, but all that exertion makes them less hardy. So... Boom, we had a boy.



I think that the same principle is used to separate male sperm from female sperm. The semen is spun in the centerfuge, separating the sperm by size.

Well, we didn't really plan for it, but it worked out to the rule so to speak. We had sex 3 days before ovulation, and not again until after I ovulated and we did conceive a girl. Actually the female sperm live longer than the male sperm.



I read an article of how scientists found that women who got alot of potassium and ate alot of fatty foods before conception had boys. those who ate low fat diets and didnt eat or drink extra potassium had girls. Must be true. in my first child I ate what ever I wanted. after him I ate sparsley and had all girls there after.
